I see your point about professionalism.

Gpugnet Apr 4, 2017 View on HN

That's not being professional

Karunamon Dec 3, 2020 View on HN

"What do you mean by professional here?", the answer to which is "not being a PITA for no reason". Seems pretty direct to me.

Do you not expect a certain level of professionalism?

ivanhoe Aug 1, 2019 View on HN

This is not about amateurs but people acting "professionally" vs. those acting "unprofessionally"...

rimliu May 19, 2017 View on HN

It's rather sad what set of behaviour is considered "professional".

astura Nov 14, 2017 View on HN

I don't understand why you think it makes you a jerk, most of what you said I'd simply include simply under "being professional."

jklein11 Mar 2, 2020 View on HN

I would call that professionalism

efuquen Mar 22, 2016 View on HN

How about just unprofessional then?

perl4ever May 5, 2019 View on HN

The adjective "professional" can mean "performed up to the standards of a profession" or "performed for money". I think it's pretty obvious that you're responding to someone using the latter definition, and I very much doubt you are unaware of its existence. Perhaps you could make your point more explicit?
