Just getting rid of DST would solve a lot of what this is trying to accomplish.
This was a year round DST. How about having a year round correct time instead?
Wouldn't it be better to increase the timezone by one, and abolish DST, so that it wouldn't be so confusing?
Why are we making DST permanent rather than making the standard time permanent?
Probably because states that observe daylight saving time are already on it for eight months of the year. Itβs actually a smaller change to stay on it all the time.
let's end the fall back, and stay on DST. It's the time change that is stupid. It's more about when we want the light for our schedules.
Is there any viable case FOR dst? The concept is archaic and insane
It sounds like you're welcoming standard time, and don't like DST. Opposite of the usual mistake.
If the time is not shifting all the time, opening and closing times can be adjusted. DST doesn't make anyone wake up at any particular time.Either way is probably fine but daylight time applies for more of the year, so this is a smaller change.Next step: to abolish leap seconds.
I'd be happier making DST permanent :)
