People usually think of “them” as the very wealthy, but they don’t even realize that earning just a little bit over $40.000/year makes you belong to the top 10% of the world measured by wealth. The top 1% of what? Income? Wealthy people don't have taxable income. That's not how wealth works.
It's not enough to be in the top few %, the top 0.1% have orders of magnitude more money than you.
After going through several of these comments, and looking up some wealth statistics/wiki etc., I feel the overlooked/relevant metric is "Where do you stand within the 1%?"
