Why not use a different apple account/id?

I'm glad that at least you need an Apple ID for this to work. Apple probably closed the spam hole.

Looks more complicated than just not using Apple ID.

If it disables login with apple id, can those users use the app?

herpdyderp Dec 18, 2025 View on HN

The answer to the question is NO. Unless you don't care at all about your Apple account.

Makes sense to support it and respect users privacy. If they forget their login, they can just sign in with apple again? And if they contact you for support they can provide their email address to you then.

I think I've read about Apple revoking some Apple IDs in the past, with the same effect.

You shouldn't have to need an appleid in the first place, as an account can be terminated/revoked any time by the company holding it.

An Apple ID is tied to an identity right now. They don't use it. Why?

MichaelMoser123 Apr 13, 2022 View on HN

i don't buy that: how is it, they keep asking for an apple-id, and they do that a lot. This data must be going somewhere...
