And now US fears China instead. You can't come out on top. Why not commit less atrocities on the way wherever you are going?

Those countries are allies.China doesn’t believe in western democracy and has as a stated goal ending American hegemony. It’s not even slightly confusing or subtle, not sure why American elitist types like to just handwave it away.Actually I am sure. Everyone is making too much money. Until they aren’t.

china is growing into its mantle as world hegemon to replace the crumbling US.there might be war, or there might not be. china isn't about to start shit when they could be making money hand over fist with anyone and everyone. they're not about to be bullied, either.

The US obviously feels threatened by the shift of economic powers and currently tries every thing they can to prevent this from happening,

The Chinese don’t feel the US needs to regress for them to succeed. They have confidence in themselves that they will continue growing, and probably grow faster, with a strong US as a partner.Russia, on the other hand, has been regressing and getting smaller. Set aside their nuclear arsenal, and they aren’t leading in anything, and are falling behind in nearly everything (they are barely within the top 10 of countries in terms of GDP). This is quite a comedown from 30 years ago and the Russia

Probably not.The US superpower status has been hollowing out and China has begun to be able to project power in very impressive ways. The US sees China as its major threat right now. What the US government would like to do is 'contain' China by keeping it a regional force - so that it can't complete as a global power. In anticipation of future conflict there has already been a large amount of anti-China sentiment creeping in America - suddenly all of the news about China has

Stories like this are about the only reason to welcome the rise of China as a counterweight to the USA. Pity it's not the EU instead.
