Very soon! Though not a researched opinion, but still a calculated guess! AI would play a role as most people would not be rich enough to go for fossil cars in the near future. Second, battery packs manufacturers would soon be replacing car engines with electric components. Third, crude oil politics would fade soon, though the price of crude had never been a hindrance in the acceptance of the electric tech, but it did play a role. Fourth, a wild guess, people would feel the need to travel less a
huh? People are going to buy cars. They will be electric or they won't. Either way, people are going to buy cars.
Why haven’t electric cars replaced gasoline?
Hybrids are "mainstream and unremarkable" already but non-hybrid cars are still sold. Pure electric vehicles today are at the same place that hybrids were at in the late 1990's.It's not like mobile phones where the existing market is going to disappear overnight. Cars survive at least 20 years in many cases, meaning gasoline infrastructure is going to be around for a good, long while. And if you project over the next 2-3 decades it's going to require for electric ve
With electricityWhat a silly comment. The switch over to an electric cars is a multi year process that will take at least until 2030 just for new cars. The current problems won't last nearlt that long
No one is going to toss out their ICE car as a long as you can still buy petrol. Manufacturers aren't going to physically be able to produce EVs much faster than they could produce ICE cars, so there will be a slow replacement as ICE cars get written off in crashes, or become uneconomical to repair with age
Wait another 5-6 years, and everyone will want pure electric cars. ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) cars will drop in value faster than ever.
I'm skeptical that we will ever see a day where there are as many electric cars on the road as there are ICE cars today. That's not because I think people won't buy electric cars, but because I think people won't buy cars in general. In the western world we are rapidly approaching "peak car". The number of cars on the road today is simply unsustainable. I would not be surprised if over the next few decades, more cars are taken off of the road entirely than are repla
It’s over for combustion engine cars. Bring on electric competition.
The problem will go away over time as we migrate to electric cars.
