Cluster focuses on poor WiFi driver support on Linux laptops, particularly Broadcom chipsets, with advice to check for Intel/Atheros compatibility, replace cards, or use USB adapters.

It'll be interesting, given the state of Broadcom wifi drivers on linux.

You need to check the chipset before you buy. Intel and Atheros have a good reputation for Linux support. Broadcom does not. I heard broadcom is leaving the wifi market soon. If so, this should get better in short order.

Your wifi chip probably isn’t supported tbh.

If it has a Broadcom wifi, then you're probably SOL on that front

You have to check for a Broadcomm wifi chip, since those can sometimes give trouble. However, if that's switched out then there's no issues.

What about laptops with Broadcom Wi-Fi?

I too was quite frustrated with the wifi card, apparently they've sourced different cards. The Broadcom (I think?) was pure crap in linux, fine in windows. I upgraded to the non bluetooth intel card, everything is fantastic now.

Do you have one of the Intel wifi cards?

Don't use any devices with a Broadcom Wi-Fi chipset.

And none of their wifi drivers work.
