There needs to be some kind of hackernews library or goodread. I have enjoyed many books (and some no so much) but always on the look out for books.
goodreads.com is doing something similar. it's worth checking them out.
What I want from a Goodreads alternative:Curated lists of books from people I respect.Lists of books that are not all dominated by Harry Potter and other trash. The ability to follow people and keep track of the books they recommend.A faster website that doesn't constantly error and crashBetter data with fewer duplicated books.Easy to use API
does anyone know of an existing alternative to goodreads?
This article is all over the place. Actually on the topic of Goodreads, there was a recent Show HN for Zeneca, a new place to share/discuss books: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=26387444
How is this superior to goodreads?
Is there a HN Goodreads collection, or similar? Lots of lists like this (inc. my own: https://www.productgems.io/library/) but would love to see something centralised when in search of a new book to read (that's not a generic top 10).
Is there a good a website with a good reading recommendation system based on what you and others have read?
For recommendations try https://www.readgeek.com - has a top 30 or so personalized recommendations and gives you an estimate of pretty much any book on how much you will like it.
how is this different from goodreads.com?
