Atheism is the lack of belief in any gods. You can be religious without any gods. An atheist can be religious.

I consider atheism, in the sense of asserting there is no God, to be a religion[1], so maybe it doesnt matter.[1]they've taken an unanswerable question and provided a faith based answer.
