I feel just the opposite. I enjoy driving. It puts me in a thoughtful state and the feeling of being free to take whatever turn, shortcut, or scenic route I want at a whim is great. I don’t look forward to the day a human driving is a weekend, closed course activity for the privileged.
Seems like it's easier just to drive regularly. This sounds very distracted
People say that a lot, but it's not true in my experience. You can spend a large fraction of your driving this way, and it's a much better experience than you'd think.
I enjoy driving, personally.I don't enjoy _having_ to drive somewhere, however.
I understand... I'm just not able to do productive things (looking at a phone/laptop/book) in a moving vehicle, so I would much rather be driving.
Anything that makes driving less convenient is fine by me!
In the current state, when you can't relax and do your things while on autopilot, I would prefer to drive the car myself.
To me any kind of driving is torture. I don't want the responsibility, the risk, the chance of fines if I miss a speed sign somewhere. And if my car could self drive I could spend the time usefully instead of wasting it on driving. It would be amazing.Right now I don't even have a car but for getting around outside of the city it's difficult sometimes.
Cool! But I still prefer driving myself..
I view driving as a kind of bad habit. I mean it's very easy to see the appeal. You get to travel long distances at great speed in your own private sitting room. They are amazing tools.I think the real issue is we overuse them and develop a huge dependency on them. And people in general are completely blind to their downsides.
