That's not what the musicians think:https://news.sky.com/story/ai-music-can-you-tell-if-these-so...

What about human created music that's AI assisted?

Without true creativity AI generated music would always sound like someone that creates music without creativity

Actually with AI the music is made for you. I don’t have to learn how to play the piano the guitar or anything. I just prompt what kind of instrument I want to. Is that still « making music » ? Idk, for me it’s not the same. In the end I’m not a musician. I just enjoy music. But I can understand that the reality of some people is different from mine as regards to what is « making music ». My view or use of AI does not invalidates theirs.

What I learned from this is that AI can't compose music.

I very much enjoy udio, stable audio, suno and others.- it seems like lately most human musicians write music when they are angry or depressed, not when they are in a good mood. These tools are able to come up with a neutral or positive sounding music much better than, say, youtube music search.- it probably marks end to cookie-cutter music production (can you really tell the difference between modern edm tracks?). letting musicians play live music to smaller audiences. because of these to

The interest in ai music generation is lower than I initially thought. I jumped in but felt the exercise lacked the joy of making music physically or with software like pro tools. With pro tools you control the thousands of knobs which gives you more control. These AI models take away that connection. You can play around with different words to get different results but it's like painting with a shotgun. No one wants to hear other people's ai songs because they lack meaning and n

Music is perfect for AI generation using trained models, because artists have been copying each other for at least the past 100 years and having a computer do it for you is only notionally different. Sure a computer can never truly know your pain, but it can copy someone else's.

yea indeed, but think ai music as a collective mind of human music creation, does that make you feel better?

You seem to be the one who doesn't understand how special it is if you think good music is so simple that AI can zero shot it.People are mixing and matching these songs and layering their own vocals etc to create novel music. This is barely different from sampling or papier mache or making collages.People made the same reductionist arguments you're making about electronic music in the early days. Or digital art.
