This is a coup attempt. Why was the Capitol not cordoned off ahead of time (they even do this for small evictions etc) and why have the attackers not been shot? This is absurd. What kind of facts do you need?

They weren't armed, they had to pass the secret service checks to get to the Trump rally area. Then marched straight from there to the capitol. Maybe there were some guns from others that didn't come from the rally, I don't know. I only know the only one that used a gun was the capitol police on an unarmed protestor. I think they reported that 6 weapons were seized from the hundreds of thousands of protestors there. They weren't storming the Capitol with highly malicious intent. I think you may also be arguing in bad faith. Additionally, an unarmed person was shot. She should've just followed orders, right?

I get your point, but there were a handful of people present that were armed in some form. That said, breaking into the Capitol Building was not a peaceful act.
