It sounds like they are using this technology or something similar:https://lookingglassfactory.com/8k
That's a nice picture of what it can be like.VR might take this kind of thing to a whole new level. Check out Imersed: https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/2849273531812512/
Does this use holographic displays similar to Looking Glass to show a different image to people in differnet spots?
This is incredible, would they be able to render it out as a 360 video so we could see it in VR and get a better sense of how it would feel in reality
Better idea: program this into a computer and use VR goggles to look at the result.
Could glue screen to the outside of vr, showing what the wearer is seeing..
There's a cool VR demo experience showcasing this on Steam: Welcome to Light Fields[0].[0] https://store.steampowered.com/app/771310/Welcome_to_Light_F...
Seems like this would have positive applications in VR/AR/Movie Theaters/Holodecks...
what about something like this (holoportation): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d59O6cfaM0
Am I missing something? This lets you watch a movie in a virtual living room on a virtual TV? Why would I want that?
