Amazon Prime Shipping Delays

Users complain about Amazon Prime's unreliable 2-day shipping promises, with deliveries often taking 4-5 days or longer despite proximity to warehouses, and compare favorably to faster shipping from competitors like Walmart and Target.

Amazon is slipping. They can't get me anything in Central NY in two days.Other retailers like Best Buy and Wal-Mart frequently get me packages in one or two days. I even ordered a box of minidiscs on Ebay from Japan and got them in less than a week.Everybody else is getting faster but AMZN is getting slower.I just canceled the renewal of my Prime subscription, you should too.

amazons same day or next day shipping has been unreliable for me. i’d say 10% of the time the items are “out for delivery” but never get delivered. then they get delivered the following day.i’d prefer to go back to the days of rock solid 2-day delivery.if folks are dealing with 4-5 day delivery then there’s little reason to be choosing amazon at all.

You didn't sign up for this?https://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=17928921011It's supposed to be opt-in though. My impression though is in the last year and a half Amazon deliveries to me have slowed down, in particular I don't think they are even trying to deliver prime packages in two days anymore. I'd contrast that to other major retailers (Best Buy

Its gotten really bad for me and a lot of my friends, lots of prime deliveries on little stuff take 4-5 days, and a lot of items say one day at checkout then a day later when i get the shipping notice, It’s ridiculous. Especially so since i live under 2 miles from an Amazon warehouse.

Many times next day is right. Amazon has no reservations with speed. Even if you say 2-day, it might be there the next day.

I quit Amazon Prime. You might still get two day or faster shipping but Amazon promises five day delivery to my home that is maybe a 4 hour drive from their warehouse. In he last few years shipping has gotten better from other retailers, I get packages from Japan faster that I get them from AMZN.I just can’t get paying for a ‘premium’ service which is worse than average.

I tried to order something today that's in stock and sold by Amazon and the delivery estimate was next Friday through the following Tuesday. I didn't bother and instead ordered it from Target for the same price and I'll have it Sunday or Monday. I'll probably stop paying for Prime if this sort of thing continues to happen.

For the past year or so I think Amazon has been making no effort to get Prime packages delivered in 2 days. It's not unusual on the other hand to get free or affordable 1-day shipping from other retailers like Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Office Depot, Adorama, etc.I think Amazon figures if you subscribed to Prime for 10 years you are hooked, but every other retailer sees shipping as a way they can impress you.

I suspect you live in an area of lower Amazon customer density? I regularly still buy and receive items sameb-day.

Some people still report that they get Prime deliveries in 2 days or less but many people believe AMZN is no longer offering this to their ZIP code.
