Why not, just sync them to the AC power grid they're all powered from.
Or use a Powerwallhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tesla_Powerwall
If i understand the article correctly, it's illegal when you wire it to the grid. So, powertools and a battery will be fine. i suppose you could have a big switch outside your house that lets you pick local generation or grid generation, ala a datacenter failover switch. But nobody wants that. Really, i don't think many people care about selling the power back either. But they've made it already, why waste it? What people want is i'll make the first 5 kwh, and i want to buy
That infrastructure might not exist. Also, you probably dont get money, you probably get credit. So having batteries connected benefits the grid rather than wasting electricity.
Only if you have battery storage.
Time to get your own isolated grid huh? Maybe with solar and inverters?
Why go off-grid when Net-Metering exists?
That's akin to a cry out for a Powerwall plus solar panel setup!
Aren't there setups that can do both as well? i.e charge battery first and send excess to the grid?
the panels on my roof produce around double my power requirements. When I have too much, I sell it to my neighbours (the grid). At night, I'm pulling from the gas plant.Out bush, I ignore the grid and run a couple of small batteries to keep the fridge going and the lights and wifi on. In town, I'll get the home battery set up once that's cost effective (I'm guessing this will be about the time we get the electric car)this isn't niche: this config is pretty common b
