Cool, but why not just use a laptop then?
Wouldn't you be better off with a lighter notebook for portability, and an additional large display for those times when that is practicable?
I am sorry to say that but I want mobility. I dont want to drag a laptop or PC around.
Why not, ya know, use a laptop? There's a reason different form factors exist.
I imagine for him the portability is required or he just hasn't tried it with a desktop :)
I would want this. This is basically how I use my laptop. My computer I use both at home and at work and plugged into extra monitors, keyboard, mouse, headphones, internet, power, etc at both locations. On the road it is nice to have a screen and keyboard, so if my computer was my smartphone I would have to carry a little screen and key board (I already carry a mouse). I wonder if such an inexpensive screen exists not attached to a computer like an iPad or tablet.
I'm not really sure why people keep thinking that you're supposed to lug this around. If I were to get this, I would only use it at home when a keyboard and bigger screen would be nice; or I would buy one for the office and the house. imo the whole point of this is so you wouldn't have to carry anything huge anymore.
The whole point of a laptop is that I can use it on my lap, on public transit. That's not possible with your recommendation.
how is carrying an ipad and a bluetooth keyboard around easier than a small laptop that has so many more uses?
Buy a laptop that has that feature. I prefer my slim devices. I've been hauling Thinkpads around for long enough.
