How does this help if driver is looking at their phone?
I think you forgot "looking at their phone instead of the road."
It's not "constantly looking at the phone", it's the plain old "using navigation in your car" that many people already do. AFAIK, safe driving with navigation is a long-solved problem.
I understand the temptation, but please don't do that while driving. Partial attention isn't sufficient for safe driving.
I'm distracted by how unsafe the driver's use of the touchscreen is in that video.
That sounds like a recipe for causing _more_ accidents as a lot of people are forced to take their eyes off the road to fix their phone; all at the same time.
Good thing that, using a phone while driving sounds risky
I've seen so many drivers either texting or using their phones while driving and not paying attention to traffic signals, stop signs, and pedestrian crossings. I wish there was a way to stop smartphones from displaying notifications and other things that distract users.
what's the alternative - looking at a screen? I want to concentrate on driving.
Please dont fiddle with your phone and drive. It is illgeal* , and more importantly you will end up killing an innocent person.*Perhaps not in your specific country.
