Hi HN,CodeApprove is a better way to review Pull Requests on GitHub.I love GitHub but the code review tools are not as good as what's available to big companies with self-hosted tools. Many of us put up with GitHub's PR reviews because of all of GitHub's other convenient features.CodeApprove is built to fit right on top of your existing GitHub workflow and help your team do better, faster reviews. Some things we do differently:- Comments are never lost / hidden an

How's this better than Github's review? Must be a pretty big reason to add a new tool to our team's flow.

Would this be an alternative and/or replacement to GitHub's code review features?

reviewstack is the thing now, adds some parts of phab UX ontop of github apis. Been enjoying using it for oss stuff oursite meta and fixed a limitation of it recently, https://reviewstack.dev/facebook/sapling/pull/656 shows what it looks like with the versioning available

Thank you! Yes, it's still surprising to me that GitHub does not seem to invest a lot in improving the code review tool... but that leaves plenty of opportunities for open source projects or SaaS to fill those gaps!

I'm building a much better code review for tool for GitHub, check out https://codeapprove.comIt combines concepts from GitHub, Gerrit, and other good review tools out there to make it easy and fast to reach consensus (which is what it's all about). If you want to hear more you can email me at sam at habosa dot com

I like https://reviewable.io, low friction github integration but gerrit-like multi-patchsets and generally a sane flow when you have multiple rounds of comments

github pull request review process, UI and the whole experience is very much the worst thing about github for me. there's literally one feature that I like (C-g, suggest a one-click committable change in a comment) and everything else is better in gerrit.

This is 100% true. For some reason GitHub has put very little love into code review even though the Pull Request is probably their most important flow. The good news is that many people have built better code review interfaces on top of GitHub. My favorites:- CodeApprove (I created it, so yeah I like it)- Graphite- Reviewable- GitContextCheck them out! You’d be surprised how much better they are and how quick they are to set up.

How about making Github-Current actually have a good code review UX?
