Network Outage Speculation

Users report connectivity problems accessing a service and speculate on causes like cable cuts, BGP issues, ISP routing, backbone providers (e.g., Hurricane Electric, Cogent), and hardware failures. Discussions focus on troubleshooting network infrastructure faults rather than local setups.

Connectivity problems for sure.

More like there was a cable cut, resulted in congestion on someone's network and they rerouted it (internal backbone changes, etc.)

rumor has it it's BGP issues

madmaze Mar 23, 2011 View on HN

hmm I wonder if they ran into issues with ISPs

Folks in their irc channel are saying that the problem is with Hurricane Electric.

At a guess it's probably something to do with the network connection at that location.

Yeah I can't get my fix. Some network hardware problem it looks like.

SpaceManNabs Jun 29, 2018 View on HN

Seems to be related to a third-party fiber cut. All the other ISPs are hit too.

And I found this thinking my isp is having issues

Working for us. Looks like connectivity problems mid-network.
