if china doesn't want to find themselves in the same situation, literally all they need to do is not invade any other countries, simple as.

i mean.china hasn't finished its paused independence war yet...china is still butthurt over the burning/looting of its buckingham/versailles/whitehouse...maybe it just took a pause from the tang/song/ming dynastys? and does think the 9-line is its pond...it might be like...what would congo do to belgium if it could?

I think it's China's revenge for Opium wars.

I don't apply the same logic to any country's history. It wouldn't make sense to hold modern China accountable for the Qing, or the civil war, or the Cultural Revolution. Like the original commenter, my biggest concern by far with the Chinese government is their repeated public statements that they plan to violently conquer a neighboring country and integrate it into their own. The US has undertaken a lot of military adventures I don't agree with in the past few decades, but

China's neighbors would likely disagree about China only wanting to trade. They're very aggressively laying claim to large swaths of sea around the Philippines, Vietnam, and Malaysia that clearly do not belong to them. Annexing water territory that does not belong to them, is no different than China taking Tibet by force on the basis that they proclaim it belongs to them. As such it's clear that plenty of their extreme belligerence is still intact.

they want to dominate the world? shall we compare war involvement or record of foreign influence? this is literally a response to an American act of aggression to cut China off of access to chips. but we're the peaceful good guys?

Yup. Lots of sleight-of-hand in this claim.China does have a long history of invading other countries, but they try to suppress knowledge of it. That’s why they’re so hypersensitive about the definition of China, because they’re hiding their present and former invasions.Tibet, Xinjiang, Taiwan, all the islands inside the vague nine-dashed line... Even border disputes with India.

I think people forgot about China's experience at the hand of the West in the past i.e Opium Wars and how it affects their moves today.

Most of these cases were about former chinese areas that were occupied and stolen by the west. Suddenly, when China wanted them back, western countries begun caring about democracy and freedom. Compare this with current western powers which commited atrocities all around the world with colonies, US which attacked and invaded areas which were never theirs in Texas and Hawaii, and supported all sort of genocide, coups and invasions when countries around the entire world did not aligned with its ca

China is greatly in favour of Countries losing their sovereignty and isn't a fan of historical claims to territory.
