Usually my partner nudges me to get up before my 10 am stand up before I get in trouble. Some days Ill even manage to get up early, like 7am. But typically I just have enough time to do some dishes, splash water on myself and have a coffee while my dry eyes settle down enough to see any urgent messages from my more punctual colleagues and boss. I check all comms and make sure the priority stuff in planner is visible and get to work. Coffee is essential. There's usually a lot of half-asleep

I was like that myself 6 months ago. I had some cool stuff to work on, and would to it in the evening, getting to bed late, tired the next day.I changed it by planning small chunks of work for each morning, getting up at 5. Doing a bit of work before the rest of the family wakes up. Than at 22:00 you're feeling tired and you go to bed.It takes a bit of getting used to, but after a few days you don't want to do it any other way.Read more about my experience at <a href="http://a

Mornings became my most productive time after creating this schedule:- Sleep 10pm to 4:30am every day- Get out of bed within 10 seconds of the alarm going off (it only gets harder if I don't)- Drink some water- 2 mile run- Drink a cup of coffee while reading something technical for 30 minutes (physical books)- Work on side/hobby projects for 1 to 2 hoursRunning makes me feel good, coffee gives me energy, reading something technical helps push me into the problem so

I've been waking up at 5am for the past 5 months so I can head to the gym (my first telecom meeting starts at 7am). Because no one is ever going to bother me between 5am and 7am, I've been able to consistently got to the gym at least 3x per week (trying to bump it up to 5x per week for the new year).I started doing this because it was very difficult for me to consistently go to the gym after work. Things come up, I get tired, friends want to hang out, sometimes I just want to relax

I have a similar schedule for a portion of my work.I find that I have 2 really good productive hours right before bed. I also find 3pm-5pm to be extremely unproductive for me. So my schedule is usually 7am-10am work, 10am-12pm exercise, 12pm-3pm work, 3pm-7pm dinner/family time, 8pm-10pm work. This type of schedule feels very liberating to me. I don’t feel like I’m working that much, but when you add it up it’s quite a few productive hours in a day.

My plan consists of waking up at 5 am and going to bed at 10 pm. If I work on it on the first 3h of my day, when I go to work I've already worked on my side project and there's nothing anyone can do about it :)

It's funny you call that late at night, I call it early in the morning. But I totally agree with you. I wake up daily at 3:10 and can get about 3 or 4 hours of good uninterrupted work done. It's also a great time to go to the gym because few else are there.

My weekday routine:- My alarm goes off at 7am. I ignore it and sleep for another 30 minutes. I do this because it helps me have dreams I can recall, and my biological clock wakes me up reliably anyway.- Drink some water or cranberry juice and check email, HN, etc.- Shower and brush teeth at the same time.- Have a Rockstar Pure Zero energy drink. These have absolutely no effect on me at this point, but it's a ritual I enjoy. People who know me find this absurd, but it's

You could try working before workOtherwise, depending on your schedule, I find waiting until after supper and having relaxed for a few hours makes a big difference
