The cluster focuses on debates about the adequacy, importance, and differences in pilot training compared to drivers, particularly in aviation safety contexts like Boeing 737 MAX incidents and contrasts with autonomous systems.

Other forms of transportation have better trained pilots. :)
And (lack of) proper pilot training
pilots are trained to handle this.
Not all pilots have the choice.
Airplane pilots are supposed to do that, no?
pray tell, what about co-pilot is dangerous?
aren't we missing the point that co-pilot is there in case pilot gets incapacitated?
Pilots are highly trained. They go through many hours of simulated flights. After an incident like this, any pilots still flying a MAX will be drilled on this specific failure. If you start to see pilots refuse to fly it, that’s when you should worry.Aviation adapts to problems and it always has. Southwest installed additional gear on their planes to help prevent this when the first plane crashed. It’s not far fetched that companies in countries with lesser regulations might skip out on train
Half of pilots are going to be below average - why not test against their ability?
Pilots have significantly more training than drivers. Safety is drilled into them from the beginning and how to respond in emergency situations is continuously reinforced with recurrent simulator training and testing. There are also far fewer interactions between an airplane and physical elements of the world than with cars. Weather visibility is much less of a problem except on takeoff and landing. Finally, on commercial flights there are at least two pilots operating the aircraft at one time t
