Do they not numb you up for this?
Yes - isn't that what anesthesia does?
The experiments I've read about don't use any additional anaesthetic. They just give people a low but still noticeable dose intravenously. Some people reported mild and transient unpleasantness during the treatment due to the drug's effects.
I was not given local anaesthetic or sedatives. I think they would have offered me sedatives, but the whole deal would have taken 3 or 4 times as long. They might have wanted my pain response to tell them they had missed. The pain was only during the jolts; when the treatment was over, I put back on my shoes and socks, and walked home (under a mile).I can take pain; but I'll fkin scream and swear if I need to scream and swear. Basically, if I can stand the pain and not pass out, then I
I'm sorry. I didn't know that anesthesia could do that kind of thing
Anestesia is nice. They ask you to count backwards from 100 or so. I never got past 95. The solution gets in over your hand and you can feel where its going because the hand and then the arm gets cool, it's a nice feeling.Apart from that, I'm sorry, I don't have anything heart related to share as well. Hope you'll do well when it's over.
Jesus, that is truly horrific. I'm sorry you had to go through that not seeing light at the end of the tunnel. I hope they had enough sense to still give you proper anesthesia before plugging things into your body.
I’ve only been under twice: did a colonoscopy and for wisdom teeth removal. In both cases, it was simply finding a vein on my arm and I was out cold pretty quickly with a weird gap in memory when I came back. It didn’t sound like taking a risk, at least as it was sold to me.
Say goodbye to anesthesia, I guess.
Is that a normal option? Was there pushback when you requested no anesthesia?
