This is the experience of a photon.
The light is being put through a translucent medium, like shining a laser through milk or smoke or something, so you can see the scattered light. Conventional/non-QM-based light physics can handle this situation.If you mean, how are they seeing the non-scattered light, you are correct that they are not.
