Thinkpads are great (T series) - Especially like the carbon X1s as they work great with Linux. It has been my primary driver for a while now with zero issues.
Have you tried the ThinkPad T series? I'm running a T460 with Linux.
Historically, Thinkpads have had excellent support. My T430S is great (although definitely aging out), and apparently the new X1 Carbons still work well. Also, both Dell and Lenovo have models that come with Linux if desired, so those are probably good ones to look at.
ThinkPads are a bit pricier but generally run Linux flawlessly.
I only recently replaced my T420 with T460s as my daily driver. M girlfriend got a T570 or 80.There have been zero issues with Linux compatibility, just install and good to go.I only recommend and would buy thinkpads. Also because as you said you get them very affordable after they spend 2 years in a office.
Iām getting 50% off On thinkpad So Iām probably leaning towards Lenovo plus i have heard alot of good things about it In terms durability and how well it supports all of the Linux distros
Never used MacBooks, but Lenovo Thinkpad laptops with Linux are really good in my experience. Get anything recent with AMD.
Thinkpads are considered really well-built laptops and typically work very well with Linux. Just double check the video card and wifi/3G cards for compatibility before you order one. Stay within the T and X (and W?) series, some of the new lines Lenovo added aren't very good. The SL series in particular appears to just be rebranded Ideapads.
Thinkpad X-Series, great Linux support(I'm using X-250 still, going strong and onsite warranty is amazing)
Do people have a preferred, recent Thinkpad model they know works well with Linux?
