Yes, Navidrome is great! and very lightweight. It's your own private Spotify, and has various players on each mobile platform. Recommended.
Navidrome has worked well for me for the last couple years. My collection (~80 GB) is pre-organized FLAC but Navidrome will transcode to MP3 if needed. I use Substreamer on Android to connect to it (Airsonic API/protocol) or the WebUI at home or work.Just the right balance of simplicity and features for me.
Check out mpd+ncmpcpp, or Navidrome. I use the latter.
Try Musicbee, its "just works" no need for complex setup or plugins.https://getmusicbee.com/
I use Subsonic, perfect for my needs.http://subsonic.org/
Iād look at Navidrome, Jellyfin or Plex. Spin one up and stream your music from that.

It even plays freaking chiptunes lolSeriously considering replacing my navidrome/subsonic service and try my music library trough this. I used to play music straight from the directory tree a long time ago anyway, this might feel right at home.
mpd or other music servers might be useful for this.
Music? Like a music library? Wouldn't Subsonic be miles better for that?
