This feels like a bad faith comment. You could have commented on systemic issues with these corporations but instead you fixated on one example.
"why we can't have nice things" assume good faith on part of large corporations. In reality, they push for shit like this the hardest. They pioneer dickishness.

Aren't all corporations basically following the same mantra, I mean some companies active here on HN, constantly bait and switch, have misleading labels or policies. What's new here? I mean why exactly is this particular case so different?
