I have the exact same configuration as yours and I confirm I can't get anything done during the days I'm at the office. It's all about face-to-face and meetings which is why I usually commute to work. Getting job done requires a quite place and at home, thanks to my wife, I can get a little control over my own private space which makes things easier unlike at the office where I lose control of the basic things like a quite space and some alone time. Since our jobs require both, it

I work from home and I find everything around me to be a constant distraction. I can't wait for the day when I can afford an office, wake up in the morning and actually go to work, as opposed to the 2ft commute, or better yet, not have to work at all :)

I have been working from home for the past 6 years. I have a dedicated room for my office. Work can be done only in my office, not even on the kitchen table. This is a hard rule and it is really good. You can enjoy a nice evening with wife and kids without thinking about working because work is only in the office. If you start to allow yourself to work here and there with the kids playing on the side, you totally blur the lines between your activities and you end up being inefficient. You cann

I feel the same way. Most of my commute is sitting on the train and I read on my phone during that time and then don’t have much urge to do this throughout the day. Working from home, I will always sleep a bit longer instead of make time for this, and then throughout the day I am constantly taking 5-10 minute breaks that waste time but done actually feel like a break. Even after so long of WFH, I haven’t managed to find my groove without the structure of going to the office.

I had work from home. Never again in my life. Going to the office helped me to split the time in my day and mark when work and when I can rest. Also, when stressed a coworker can help much more easier than from home. My home is my home, my office is my office. Never mix these places.

I love working at home. I can concentrate so much better than in the office, where I get distracted all the time. Office is great for meetings and discussions, but when those are over and I really need to get things done, I work better at home. Then again, I've always been pretty comfortable with internet-based communication, so I don't tend to get lonely at all. Also, working at home doesn't mean sitting in the same place all the time for me. I sometimes go to the park, or other places, for

My problem when I WFH is I work too much. You need an office to go to so work is isolated from home

Sure, the important part is you do a clean break from work and work mode, there's many ways to do so.Me, my work-desk and pc-gaming-desk are one and the same, but I have different keyboards (PC vs Mac) for the one or the other. It's not ideal though, I'd love to have a dedicated office space and time with e.g. an own kitchenette so I don't have to dart in and out of the shared space of the kitchen multiple times a day.I'd say that's my main issue; my workspace

Anecdotally, I am completely unable to work at home. I need an office, or a cafe, or some space away from my personal private spaces. Keeps me accountable, and removes a large class of distractions that (from experience) I would be unable to resist.

Congratulations!!! Big steep indeed. Give a favor to yourself and don´t work at home, work somewhere else like coworking or shared spaces. Work at home is a focus-killer IMHO.
