How about a 42inch 4K monitor (Philips BDM4350UC). In term of screen real estate it is fantastic.

If only a small size (up to 32ish inches) needed 4k monitor would probably surfice

I've got the LG 5k2k 34".It's great for what I use it for, mostly software development. Only issue I have is that occasionally MacOS decides it can't see it or won't use the full resolution and I have to do a bit of plugging and unplugging.I might get a smaller 4k monitor on the side. I really value a lot of pixels.

I've wanting an LG OLED55C6P for a monitor. It's a 55" 4K curved TV with HDR. I figure it's like 4 27" 1080 monitors without the borders in the middle. It's also vertically taller than one of those monitors in portrait orientation while still having tons of space to the side of said portrait. As I'm old enough to need progressive lenses, I don't really think there's any value in having higher pixel density than 4K at that size.

I use the Dell 43". It's not perfect but it's pretty great for the price:https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/dell-43-ultra-hd-4k-mul...

Dell UltraSharp 43" 4K (@60Hz) Monitor. Have been buying them for years, will likely keep doing so.

there are plenty of 40+ inch monitors. maybe one of them would suit.

Just got a 32" 4k. I had a 49" 4k in the past, but it broke. My issue with monitors above 49" is it strains the eyes and head looking around. I always had to partition the screen or manually resize, it got annoying. Gonna try 1 4k for landscape and 1 for portrait now.

The use case is using a proper monitor, bigger than 16". Try that on a 27" or 32"

Even better than 2 monitors is a single 2560x1600 30".
