Have you tried bandcamp? It's a great way to pay artists directly while having the convenience and discoverability of streaming services.
bandcamp as a source would be great too. lots of great music there.
Bandcamp is a fantastic service, my friends and I absolutely love it. I love the ability to preview the mp3 audio at 128kpbs without flash. Noting that bandcamp takes 10-15% of the sale, with the rest going to the artist is what keeps me going back there first to look for music instead of iTunes.Only downside is discovery of music on bandcamp, a side project I'm currently working on is a tool for myself to find new music on bandcamp; unfortunately their APIs aren't designed for finding simila
Bandcamp is now my go to place to buy music. It's a welcome relief from the bloat of iTunes, and the oversaturated wasteland of Spotify. It's a great place to discover new music, and it plays fair with artists.
Bandcamp, you “own” the music and get the source files, plus unlimited high quality streaming using their app. You pay what the artist asks for their work, usually 7-9$ for a full album. They even have creators Fridays which removes bandcamps chunk of the revenue (15%)
Bandcamp has a wider selection than you'd think. I've been pleasantly surprised at how often I will find an artist who sells music there. Qobuz is good too, I use them both.
Bandcamp is a good source of indie songs. The cut is less than spotify too.
That's the whole reason to use bandcamp
Bandcamp is the best way to support indie/small label bands. Buy their albums with actual dollars, then stream them.
Sounds like Bandcamp is perfect for you. You can stream full albums for free, then buy and download the odd ones that you really like.
