is this as widely compatible as 7zip?
Genuine question: why would I use this over 7zip?
Why does anyone use 7-Zip? Does it have any advantages over the more widely used alternatives (tarball and zip)?
How are tarballs any more of a pain than .7z?
Suggestion: add archives in more Unix friendly format (xz, gz, bz2). Not everyone has zip installed on their Unix box.
Zip archives (as opposed to .tar) are usually like that.
Too bad it doesn't support unpacking .tar.gz files in a single step like their competition (WinZip) does.
One more reason to use zip archives then !
Are there any good alternatives to 7-zip we can use instead?
Probably meant a tarbomb but seems like there's no .zip equivalent.
