What's weird on Mac is that it seems to use Command as the Control key.
So many years of Mac OS and I still remap the keyboard to Cmd-Ctrl-Alt.

MacOS has custom shortcuts for everything.

If that's the issue then configure your mac to switch command and control. It's somewhere in settings.
