Let's hope the author doesn't ever go into an MRI... could be ugly!

There is no mentioning of exposure during MRIs. Is there none? I would have thought, CTs as well as MRIs are a problem because of exposure.

It's MRI not CT. No radiation, just a ludicrously powerful magnetic field.

Is this likely to be less risk than xray or nmr mri for comparable imaging quality?

rbinv Dec 11, 2015 View on HN

You might be thinking of CT scans? MRI scans should be harmless.

CT scans irradiate you, MRIs don't really. Just don't have any metal in you.

An exploratory MRI has inherit risk (even if minuscule) to your life, and thus their livelyhood. A very big difference from asking for an x-ray of a cable.

You'd be wrong. Source: diagnostic imaging design engineer (CT, not MR, but the hazards are similar).

What harm is caused to your body by an MRI?

MRI machines don't: https://dangerousthings.com/implant-faq/#mri
