Why fast for so long? How is this healthy?
Looks like fasting occasionally really works
Sounds like regular fasting/starvation to me.
Intermittent Fasting, as described on the internet, doesn't involve eating less food but rather eating within a narrower time window. You can get 16-23 hours of fasting in a 24 hour day, and suggestions are that useful changes happen around 12 hours after eating, and (e.g. work of Prof. Sachin Panda) that fasts of this kind of length can do significant good for animal health. Are you talking of this kind of thing, low body fat makes even this difficult, or are you talking of multi-day fas
eating between 8am-8pm ? thats entire day! How is that fasting ?
Alternate day fasting (Fasting for 36 hours, Eat 12 hours, Fast 36, Eat 12, etc..) has worked well for me and isn't quite as scary.
Seems like simply fasting should yeild the same results without the side effects. Any reason not to recommend fasting then?
Fasting seems to get a lot of appreciation on hn.
Why do you fast for so long if it's such a bad experience? If you'd do a 16h fast every day you'd be fit all year round and still have plenty of energy (for me, more energy than without fasting). Check out leangains.
By fasting I assume it is intermediate fasting?
