How is this different than giving your children to orphanage?

muro Oct 13, 2019 View on HN

I thought they can't place kids away from their parents.

This seems to be missing some context, like if you're a foster parent or similar?

There are plenty of parentless children available for adoption. Save them first.

That doesn't seem like a good reason as long as there are children who need adoption and foster care.

LunaSea Mar 6, 2021 View on HN

Wouldn't that be a argument for the kid to be placed into a foster home?

timc3 Oct 19, 2022 View on HN

Why not look into adoption? There are many many children looking for a stable, loving environment.

You might be mistakenly projecting your own experience here. There a plenty of unwanted children.

We take peoples kids when they wouldn't be treated well.

ReptileMan Mar 14, 2019 View on HN

It is "just adoption" if the kid is lucky. Otherwise it is horror story.Edit: Also it was not done for the good of the kids, but for the good of the parents. Which puts it into different situation.
