Thought it was useful to give the reason he was quitting, as indicated by the text.Guess it didn't help here. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It's definitely up there with the classic "Why I left (FAANG)" self-serving visibility posting.
Gotta get the upvotes. People are not interested is git “left the company”
hmm I resigned one month ago but what's the point to write a blog about that?
I'm going to start writing "Why I quit/declined XYZ company". There must be a fortune in it considering all the equivalent articles floating around lately.
Ironically posted by a guy who walked away from big tech and bigger salaries after he got sick of it.
I'm confused how this is on the front page of HN. I also feel like I'm left hanging after reading that - you hired someone, he wasn't a good fit so you fired him and you're upset. What was the resolution, what did you learn from that? That would have been a better way to end that post. I feel cheated of the time I read that in a way.
I had to resubmit this because an almost identical submission was flagged for having a 'misleading' title, when the quote is LITERALLY FROM THE MAN who quit.
Maybe read some from the top, then some from the bottom. The person ultimately quit the job as was expected. The story is relatable.
Funny reading this. I just resigned today. No kidding. If I had seen this post before resigning, perhaps I would have sent it instead of the one I sent.
