I didn't realize this was his work. I've visited that museum and it truly is amazing. You can play with working NeXT boxes, a working Alto (the screen resolution for that time is amazing to see in person), TI9As, tons of old HP-UX machines ... If you're ever in Seattle it is totally worth checking out .. that and the smaller (though less interactive) museum at Recycle PC.
Many are, sure, the trick is to find something that appeals to you. Here's a few I recommend:https://www.micropia.nl -- A museum of microscopic life. With actual living exhibits and a bunch of microscopes you can play with. They have a lab on site to maintain the exhibition. How cool is that?https://www.teylersmuseum.nl/en
https://www.computermuseum.org.uk/ - Visits by appointment only, but looks incredible.
Me too – I saw it at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA. Gorgeous machine! The museum was great too, highly recommend a visit to anyone interested in the history of computing.
Not a book, but the computer history museum has a silicon valley exhibit.
Wow! it's looks like the Computer Museum of History. Thank you for the link.
I don’t think this is considered a normal tourist trap, but it doesn’t match any of your stated interests. The Computer History Museum is incredible. On Feb 19 it’ll start re-opening on weekends only.https://computerhistory.org/
Exactly the one I meant under the theme park comment - another one is Monterey Bay Aquarium.Don't get me wrong, both are awesome museums. One thing that caught my attention in CHM is that as you approach the end of century, it becomes an exposition of bright boxes of computer software - quite a change from mechanical marvels of early last century or metal and plastic boxes of mid-century. But overall it's pretty great and totally worth a visit.
They have one at the Compute History Museum, although it’s behind glass. It’s worth going here for everything else they have too - try to go when they have an IBM 1401 demo going.
I visited the museum where they have that thing, in McMinnville Oregon. It's pretty cool to see.
