Are they aware that 10TB is about 160$ in Hard drives>?

tuco86 Nov 4, 2022 View on HN

big HDDs are getting cheap. just checked, 16 tb is only 260E by now

HeadsUpHigh Nov 24, 2020 View on HN

Cheapest ssd $/tb is x2-3 that of the cheapest hdd. That's still significant.

For reference, you can buy a 2 TB SSD for $200 today. Same capacity as the 30 old drives, for much less space and cables.

Storage. 1TB+ SSDs are still quite pricey.

You can't compare 1TB hard disks, they are comparatively expensive. The cheapest per TB I can find right now is 20 euros for HDD, and 120euro for SSD. So factor 6 if you buy the cheapest, respectively.

He said external TB SSDs not USB SSDs. Check how much those cost. TB SSD of 4TB is like $1000.

When will prices of SSD catch up to rotational disks?

rootsudo Feb 3, 2021 View on HN

Wow 1TB SSD's are super cheap now..That's so cool.

HeadsUpHigh Nov 24, 2020 View on HN

Yes the cheapest ssd is more expensive /tb than the optimal one( which is ~1tb atm).
