Ovarit has some interesting threads on the Kiwifarms takedown and the possibility of it happening to their site:https://ovarit.com/o/Ovarit/146818/if-kiwifarms-stays-down-o...https://ovarit.

Please stop reiterating lies.Kiwifarms is a gossip site, offensive and obscene at that, but there is no evidence of "harassment and murder" being orchestrated or organized by its members. To the contrary, any threats posted there are removed faster than on commercial platforms such as Facebook, and the website, its owner and its users make a point of "do not contact the discussion targets" quite often. Why a US site should obey NZ law is also beyond me.

Like other users have pointed out, this tweet is from the provider that kiwifarms was using. For those who aren't aware, kiwifarms is a website that was ostensibly a gossip forum, but in practice often ended up being used for cyberstalking and harassment. They would frequently harass and doxx people. Their wikipedia page covers parts of it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiw

Lots of people in here are saying things like:"Kiwifarms was taken down by the Twitter mob"or"Kiwifarms was just freedom of speech"Those people either have clearly never visited the site, or are operating in bad faith. I would visit Kiwifarms occasionally to catch up on obscure drama, get updates on Chris Chan, or just look at the deranged posts from users on the site.Kiwifarms had always been instrumental in coordinating attacks on people, not just "mean

The current push for cloudflare to unlist kiwifarms is in response to a well known twitch streamer's attempted killing via swatting. They literally had to leave the country (canada), and the new address was found, and they were swatted again.https://globalnews.ca/news/9097654/twitch-streamer-and-trans...</a

No, but any reasonable examination of Kiwifarms shows a history of swatting, doxing, and bullying that has led to suicides. If I had a hosting business, I don't see why I should be required to carry their content or provide service to them. It's not a free speech question - it's a shitty behavior question.

Kiwifarms, now banned, official twitter page said their goal was “exploitation of the mentally handicapped for amusement purposes”. ( Source: https://archive.is/jYp5p ).I think Kiwifarms is (borderline) criminal. Null, the admin of the site, outright said he was ok with users posting stolen financial information, such as Social Security Numbers and Credit cards. Source: <a href="https://ar

I think a lot of people in the comments don't understand what Kiwifarms is.I say this as someone who occasionally browses there and gets some (admittedly sick) enjoyment from it: the main draw of the website is a place for people to get together and bully mentally ill "weirdos".It's not just about people posting offensive shit in their own little corner of the internet - what happens there spreads out, by design, into the mainstream web and real life too. While I'

I've browsed through kiwifarms and they seem to say horrible stuff about people but in my sample I haven't seen anyone directing action against someone. It was a good source of information that was omitted from the press regarding a recent case in the UK about terminal medical care. I saw some nasty comments about the person, but in the few hundred forum pages no calls to action or threats made against the people. Is writing something horrible about someone in and of
