23andMe does genotyping not sequencing

kolev Sep 24, 2015 View on HN

Any idea where I can get a full sequencing at a reasonable price for personal use?

amelius Nov 29, 2018 View on HN

In the age of low-cost DNA sequencing, shouldn't this be simple to figure out?

mrfusion Aug 2, 2016 View on HN

23andme wouldn't count as sequencing anyway right? They're just looking for certain snp's.

Are there any services that sequence the entire genome/have a higher level of accuracy?

throw97 Dec 13, 2018 View on HN

Which service did you use for gene sequencing?

mellavora Aug 20, 2021 View on HN

genetic sequencing is pretty cheap these days.

I'm not an expert in the IP, but this 2021 summary is better than my best understandinghttps://41j.com/blog/2021/05/the-next-few-years-in-dna-seque...

This is a great product. Where is the sequencing done?

eru Jan 2, 2010 View on HN

They do not do complete sequencing (at least that's not the cheap option) as far as I know.
