Pretty much any news that casts Israel in a non positive light, even distantly, is flagged on HN.
That was The Onion’s position as well:https://theonion.com/the-onion-stands-with-israel-because-it...
israel has consistently calls out any detractors as lying or committing misleading propaganda. If it was one or two news publications, it would be plausible to denounce it as mere slander. but we have thousands of eye witness reports, literal videos and news reports from multiple sources all confirming that Israel maintains a brutal apartheid regime in which the palestinian people are consistently denied basic humanity. What other country keeps literal children in military prisons without tria
There are many people who have genuine concerns about Israeli issues, such as the election of leaders who prioritise those of one faith over another, the targeted striking of Al Jazeera offices in Palestine, and the eviction of Palestinian citizens from the West Bank https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-63660566. Since the discussion usually tend to be broad topic rather than specific link, this feels a lot (I left a single comment last time and was flooded by responses). Both entries are talking negatively about Israel (I think specifically Al Jazeera is not very good source being affiliated with Qatari government) so it feels kind of
The Hacker News I know doesn't censor or flag submissions of this quality because the topic is critical of Israel. It's timely, relevant, immensely important, and was in the news only yesterday re: the United Nations.Technology that surveils up to and including targeted assassination of United Nations peacekeepers is not relevant to Hacker News?It is.This should not be flagged or censored.
