Been there :)It's not the wifi itself, it's the internet connection that goes down. So this did not help...

It doesn't seem like a bug, it seems like a trade off. In order to work over wifi it needs to flick between channels, reducing the uptime on the current channel you are using.

avoiding poor wifi connections is the default, but you can turn that off in the advanced wifi settings
