Fentanyl Overdose Crisis

As another person said, I wasn't really referring to people who need it for pain and are taking it with legal prescriptions.I'm mad about all the people overdosing because their drugs were laced with Fentanyl without their knowledge - Mac Miller OD'd on fake oxycodone that contained Fentanyl[1]. This is from 2010 before fentanyl was really a thing. Like the article stated, people are dying off of cheap pressed pills made from combos of Chinese imported RCs mixed with fentanyl.These pills are MUCH cheaper/widely available than the non-"counterfeit" opioids. And much more likely to spontaneously kill you vs how people more traditionally overdosed. Addicts aren't the only ones ODing.The "war on drugs" is probably a good thing as far as this goes because

Fentanyl-related deaths are mostly accidental overdoses. They are the result of the War on Drugs. People buy unregulated and untested shit off the streets and they are laced with fentanyl. They cannot even test it without getting into legal trouble. At the very least we could provide that.

The problem isn't pain killers it is massive quantities of fentanyl being brought into the country. Made worse by it being so cheap it is basically pressed into pill shape and sold as other less lethal substances like Xanax, Percocet, MDMA etc. People are also just selling it as cocaine. There have been several stories of people thinking they bought cocaine and overdosing because it was or contained fentanyl.
