The concept of the antilibrary might help me make sense of my book collection. I stopped buying books because I usually don't read them in the end. However sometimes there are rare moments where it is nice to be able to fetch a specific book from the shelf.

I used to worry over having unread books around, but now I prefer a library of unread books from which I can browse and pick. A library of books already read is just for show, or just takes up space if you are not referencing them or re-reading them. Tsundoku is the way you should keep your library, but preferably not on the floor and nightstands. Guilty:)

For me it is like having a personal reference library, more like a miniature version of Umberto Eco's library, and you really don't know what you might need/read in t

Unrelated, but your book collection is old school.

I have about 500 physical books right now ranging from learning Chinese to advanced c++ to quantitative finance to Seeet Chi.My wife hates it. I buy books because I want to. I hope to read them. Someday I will, I know this. I read a lot already but the implementing what I have read and practicing takes time away from reading new subject matter. Example learning Chinese..it’s been 3 years and I still practice daily. Quant stuff.. I’ve been implementing and refining my code but this all takes t
