Nice! My iPhone is from 2018, I'll try to hold out until then.
Buy a new 6S then. Apple doesn't immediately abandon their phones, so there's no need to buy the newest out of habit.
For me it was when they stopped the iPhone Mini. I don't want a 6.5" phone. In 4 or 5 years I'll have to update but it works great now.
> Same thing with my phones. I went from an iphone 4, to a 5, to a 6 to an 11. And there I have stayed. There are a few features that would be nice to have, but not enough for me to fork over the cash. And my old one still does everything fine.My iPhone 7 (Plus? whatever the called the big one) still seems a totally serviceable phone from my limited use, although substantially slower than my 12.It's not been supported for some years now, but I still boot it occasionally and it'
I'm in the same boat. Updated year after year and got all of them up to the 5s. The 6 form factor annoys me, too big to hold it confortably and too small to actually replace the ipad. Wouldn't pay premium proce for the c device of a generation past, this se perfectly fits the bill of what a smartphone should be to me
Yeah I really don't understand this move. Looks like I'll stick with my iPhone SE until it dies and never "upgrade".
I'm still on a 6s and it's absolutely fine. I can't see myself upgrading in the foreseeable future, but when I do it will almost certainly be another iPhone. They've been really good to me and lasted many years as hand-me-downs, sometimes with a battery refurb just before they go out of support. The value proposition is just excellent.
I went from a 6S+ to a 15 because I was in the same boat where the end of support/updates made it impossible to use. Also, the battery is shot so it lives on a cable full time. Hoping I can get as many years out of the new one. I have very few apps because I don't trust any of you app builders to respect my privacy. If there was something in between a smart phone and a feature phone, I'd be interested.
I've got one on order to replace my iphone 5. It's not my ideal but it's getting to the point where not being able to update stuff is a problem, and right now being able to use Applepay is getting to be more of an advantage. At least it won't have face id or any of that crap. I figure since this has the newest cpu at least it should be a while before Apple obsoletes it.
My wife just upgraded from a 5 year old iPhone, I'm using a 4 year old model. Ill likely upgrade next year.
