It's not a botnet. Am a long-time hacker news reader who thinks ivermectin is a better covid cure based on science than what Pfizer is rushing to produce (Pfizer's drug hasn't even finished Phase 1 FDA trials, Ivermectin is FDA approved with ~40 years safety data). I use multiple machines and didn't remember the password for this account so created a new one. My interest is not in spamming, but having a genuine discussion, why ivermectin isn't more widely used. There is no evidence ivermectin works against COVID. There is still one large study running, I think, that might show a small effect, but definitely not a big effect.Sorry you had a severe issue with your vaccine.

Ivermectin is actually standard hospital protocol (not just for covid) in large parts of the world where parasites are relatively common. Giving someone a dewormer is low cost and high benefit. One of the reasons the research struggled to figure out whether it helps covid is that it is just a generally helpful drug for big parts of the population. It doesn't do anything special re covid, but it's still a good and useful drug.

Ivermectin probably doesn't do anything to fight Covid-19, but the American media has really shown their corruption in the way they've treated it.It's clearly a safe drug to take in human-designed doses, and it's cheap to produce. Laughing at people for poisoning themselves with "horse dewormer" instead of pointing out that they are turning to the vet store because their access to medicine has been marginalized is sick. And maybe it does help, I don't know

I think everyone (who is reasonable) agrees the vaccine is the most effective tool we have against covid based on current scientific studiesHowever this article about Ivermectin is not well reasoned:> As infection rates soared, some people were taking excessively high doses of the medicine every day, hoping to stave off COVID-19, but in a few rare cases that move prompted liver failure.>Other patients were unknowingly given the "kit" drugs by doctors in private hospitals
