my Withings sleep pad diagnosed it for me. Apparently I'd been stopping breathing upwards of 80 times an hour. Still suffer from the long term damage. The CPAP plus weight loss did the job. Would like some jaw surgery but, well it's surgery.

Just wondering have you tried the nose only sleep apnea devices?

Just FYI:I have (treated) obstructive sleep apnea. The doctor first tried me out on a CPAP machine during a sleep study, but I couldn't tolerate it.Eventually he made me an oral appliance (mostly acrylic) [0] that works great. It just keeps my jaw a little forward while I sleep. It also fixes my teeth-grinding problem.[0] I think this one: https://oralappl

Please get a CPAP machine. They do wonders for people with even mild forms of sleep apnea.

I have moderate-to-severe apnea, but nothing that might have caused it (not overweight, don't smoke, etc.) and didn't find out until I was 21.Using a CPAP is a night and day difference--whereas I used to require 10-12 hours to function without randomly falling asleep if I sat still for too long, and now I can get 6-8 without any issues and I'm more alert, have a better mood, etc.I wouldn't have known except that my ex-girlfriend noticed that I wasn't breathing when

It sounds like you need a CPAP machine or the like.

Commenters with sleep apnea, what have you done to resolve it, and how has it worked?

This happened to me, I've probably always had mild sleep apnea (always snored, always been overweight, and always slept on my wide) but I went up about 10KG and it got super bad to the point my wife was concerned and often heard me stop, got tested and I had a pretty bad result as far as the rest goes (stopped breathing like 40 times per minute or something). The good news is I got a CPAP machine and couldn't be happier, now about a year in. My only advise is don't cheap out jus

Get yourself checked for sleep apnea

Know someone who had this issue, turned out to be related to sleep apnea. Their life totally changed after it was diagnosed and a CPAP was used during sleep.
