That is still possible in th US, but the case needs to come before the supreme court.
i could see this possibly be challenged by courts , possibly up to the supreme court
It's clear that it's not legal, the Supreme Court is simply in the process of deciding whether it can happen anyway.
This is tricky since it delves into first amendment territory. I wonder if it may be overturned by a higher court.
Until the supreme court overturns that.
Would be cool if this was blown out by the courts.
My understanding is that this can go to a federal court pretty quickly who can then rule on this and block it, and it can be appellead up to the Supreme court, but for the time being it will be stopped, then I am assuming the Supreme Court will defer to whatever the appellate court decided because it is so open and shut.
They probably should, it is law, but every case so far that gets a judge to DO anything goes to SCOTUS and SCOTUS calls off any actual action and puts their hands in their pockets...
That was a Supreme Court ruling, not a piece of legislation - so it might be even longer!
The Supreme Court would probably strike this down once it threatens to activate.
