I wonder if it is a case of people wanting to leave the company.
The implication is that people leave bad companies quickly.
People leave managers before they leave companies.
Is this likely to result in employees leaving the company?
No it's more like, with the direction of company there are lots of unhappy people - but this gave them the right opportunity (and optics) to leave (now they don't need to justify leaving this corp to their friend)
The people who are quitting, where are they working now? Can you work there?
how about those that leave a company without being fired?
Why not? I've left companies when things went sour. I know lots of people who have.
But you're saying the guys are leaving, they're not fired. Maybe after the talk they realise that their life is more important than being loyal to a company that won't let them take a little time off.
except it would have an opposite effect right ? wouldn't the really good people who can find another job leave and those that remain are not as good?
