This is strained reasoning. The threat of war with China and the literal guns pointed at millions of heads in South Korea are what prevents the US from picking off DPRK infrastructure and personnel. Compare to Iran if you doubt.

North Korea has survived until now not because they recently got nukes, but because they are holding South Korea hostage. The moment foreign troops near Pyongyang, conventional NK artillery would have leveled Seoul completely. Millions of rich-country people in a nation allied to the US would die. Also China would have been pissed.

Related to a threat from North Korea?

I always find NK as a threat such a silly idea. The moment things escalated to anything real they'd be wiped out or even if they did manage to put up a fight they seem so resource constrained that it'd be over within weeks. I can only imagine the reason it keeps being hovered over our head is because the US needs an enemy and russia and china are too powerful to put in that position anymore (but what do I know I'm just speculating).

Because its impossible atm to intervene.1. Seoul is reachable even by conventional weapons from NK2. China uses NK to manipulate the west.3. NK govt has millions of their own citizens as hostage( most of them willingly so).4. There is no proof that NK is planning to follow up their saber rattling with real attacks.

Worked fine for North Korea. No invasion plans that we've heard about so far.

I don't understand why you are being downvoted.1. The United States and South Korea are indeed an existential threat to Kim's government.2. Nuclear weapons will guarantee that North Korea won't see a regime change anytime soon.

china, didn't support in nuclear it is Russian. You need to ask yourself such as question: what are opportunity for Chine, if we NK launched on SK, or Japan? Also need to understand Chine have traded with Japan and SK instead of Russian. Also NK could to use Nuclear only in Japan Sea and Yellow Sea, But it is a trade way with SK.

It depends on circumstances. Right now:1. NK is not expansionary.2. NK has nukes. US does not want anyone to use nukes, even a little one.3. Any attack on NK means many deaths in SK.4. Bad press.

Unfortunately I think the opposite is true and history is on their side. When haven't we or the rest of the world not caved? I remember back when Clinton was in office and Jimmy Carter did an end run on him and gave the North Koreans what they wanted.Their economy is in the dumps, their people are starving, and they have gulags or worse throughout their country, so its not like the value other human life. Then back this attitude up with a large military which has access to conventional and ot
